This is amazing. I’m fairly sure I’ve had all of these directed at me.
I say I try to avoid meat and I get “Well that’s why you have health problems!”
Ignorant idiots. Pretty sure that’s not what causes endometriosis and interstitial cystitis!Maaan, if I had a dollar for every time I heard one of these…
Bottom left corner reminded me that I once explained to a friend that I don’t eat meat because of how animals are treated prior to slaughter, and she started crying because “That’s how people on farms make most of their money.”
I was like… If you raise it, go ahead and eat it, but 99% of our meat comes from inhumane slaughterhouses. e_e Don’t quote me on that percent.
I’m an omnivore, but I try to make educated purchases/decisions when it comes to my meat, mostly by where it comes from. But, I had to reblog because my fiance, who has on-and-off vegan phases, explained that she wasn’t eating meat to a former coworkers fiance, and his response was “That’s just un-American. Think of all the farmers you’re putting out of business?!”
People aren’t very educated about food, and I think Big Food wants to keep it that way.
